Match Ups – Cría Yatay vs La Dolfina Polo Ranch

November 24, 2017 | FP Strategist

This match up is a replay of the second match of the Hurlingham Open and that is a good place to look if you want to make a good pick. Click here to check out the stats from that game. Although there were no stand out Fantasy scorers, it was an even match and there were plenty of players making a reasonable amount of points. Diego Cavanagh, Christina “Magoo” Laprida, Joaquin Pittaluga and Nachi Du Plessis made 20+ points in this evenly matched battle. It will be an interesting match and it is certainly worth considering players from either side for your line up to add in some more economical players to your team alongside those expensive La Dolfina, Ellerstina and Alegría players. Both teams have proven to be good Fantasy scorers throughout both tournaments so far.

Top Picks

Joaquin Pittaluga – our Fantasy favourite last year, wildcard Joaquin Pittaluga is proving once again to be a great Fantasy pick for you, earning solid points every game through field goals and a high penalty accuracy. He is ranked 5th and has an impressively high average score per match making him a reliable and cost effective pick.

Diego Cavanagh – if you’re looking to save some money, but keep those points flowing in, Cavanagh may be the pick for you having a lower price tag than Pittaluga. Although his average score per match is lower at 32.08, he is $5k cheaper which could leave you more budget to spend on your stars.

Players to Avoid

Guillermo Terrera – with a price tag of $16k, although hardly expensive, you would expect a little more reliability from Terrera who hasn’t scored more than 18 in the tournament so far.

Alejo Taranco – cheap at just $11k, Taranco might look like a tempting deal to leave more money in the budget for the bigger players, but with 8 fouls to his name and the odd technical, he might just be a more negative impact on your team than positive.
