Quarters Match Ups – La Indiana vs Emlor

June 9, 2018 | FP Strategist

Sunday’s first quarter final game pits old teammates against one another as Emlor’s Agustin Merlos faces his old La Indiana line up. This could mean that Merlos knows just how to avoid the tough defensive skills of Nic Roldan or that La Indiana know the tricks of how to shut down the forward running goal scoring machine that Merlos has proven once again to be.

With 2 strongly patroned teams it will be interesting to see how the 2 top patrons compare. Spencer McCarthy has had almost free rein to be the 4th member of the team thus far but Michael Bickford should be able to shut him down effectively and neutralise his threat. Alec White will be the fly in the ointment for Emlor as he will no doubt be taking out Nacho Gonzalez, this may mean he does not score big points as he will be working hard off the ball. My money would still be on Merlos over Pieres based on consistency. Roldan and Cavanagh have so far been pretty even on the Fantasy scores and there is not much to discern between them.

Players to Avoid

Nacho Gonzalez: Yet to appear above 30 in the player rankings, a tough match against La Indiana will hardly help his score.

Alec White: Although usually a solid pick, the plan will be for him to work hard to create space for Pieres and Roldan and I think this will not be a big scoring match for him.
